Elias Pelletreau (1726-1810), a master goldsmith and silversmith of the American Colonial era, was renowned for his exquisite craftsmanship. Born in Southampton, Long Island, he honed his skills under the tutelage of the esteemed Simeon Soumain in New York City. Beyond his artistic legacy, Pelletreau was a dedicated patriot, serving as a captain in the Suffolk County militia during the Revolutionary War.
