French School, 19th century, attributed to Perignon after Louis-Léopold Boilly. Oil on canvas depicting Marie Félicité Paillet. A handwritten note on the reverse identifies the sitter and the artist as the copyist grandmother of the previous owner: “Copy by my grandmother Perignon of the portrait by Boilly of her niece Me Payette.” The original was executed circa 1801 and is documented in Louis-Léopold Boilly: The Painter of Parisian Society from Louis XVI to Louis-Philippe (Breton and Zuber, 2019, no. 514)
