Jean-Baptiste Massé engraving with etching, circa 1708, depicting Marie de’ Medici in the allegorical guise of Minerva. The queen is shown full length wearing a plumed helmet, pearl necklace, loose gown, and sandals, holding a scepter and statuary element, with putti above bearing a wreath. Presented within an elaborate decorative border with title cartouche below.

This work originates from the celebrated series La Galerie du Palais du Luxembourg, comprising twenty-four engravings after paintings by Peter Paul Rubens commissioned by Marie de’ Medici for the Luxembourg Palace. The engravings were executed after designs by the Nattier brothers and published between 1707 and 1709.

An example of this engraving is held in the Royal Collection Trust of King Charles III (RCIN 616766).
