This painting accompanied by a note stating that Mr. Noé Willer had confirmed its authenticity and that a certificate dated December 21, 1994, would be issued to the purchaser. Please see screenshot of original listing. We have yet to receive it.

Artist Bio:
Jean-Gabriel Domergue (1889–1962) was a French painter specializing in portraits of Parisian women. He was born in Bordeaux and studied at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts.
At the young age of seventeen, in 1906, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français. In 1911, he was awarded second prize in the Prix de Rome and later received the gold medal in 1920.
From the 1920s onward, Domergue became known as the painter of the “Parisian lady.” Many of his works depicted elegant women, often in refined or sensual poses, and he famously claimed to be “the inventor of the pin-up.” Domergue’s figures were characterized by their slender, graceful forms, swanlike necks, and wide, expressive eyes—an aesthetic that defined his vision of feminine allure and sophistication.
