Summary:
Alexander Archipenko (Ukrainian/American, 1887–1964) cubist style bronze figural sculpture depicting a standing nude female form on a marble base. Elongated and highly abstracted with geometric modeling and a dark brown patina. Incised signature and date to the bronze base reading Archipenko 1914.
(Good, aged patina with minor scattered surface wear, rubbing, and light scratches. Areas of oxidation and verdigris are present, most notably along the lower section and base. The marble plinth shows light edge wear, small surface marks, and some discoloration. The marble plinth may be a later replacement.)
Measurement: 27 3/4 x 7 1/4 x 6 1/4 in. (70.5 x 18.4 x 15.9 cm.) approx
