A finely modeled 19th-century Villeroy & Boch Mettlach stoneware jug featuring a cream and terra-cotta body with high-relief figural panels and ornate vine motifs. The jug is decorated with a series of molded scenes of musicians and figures in classical attire, bordered by grapevine ornamentation and German inscriptions referencing song, wine, and life. Marked on the underside with the green Villeroy & Boch Mettlach stamp and impressed numerals.
Measurements: 11 1/2 x 7 3/4 x 6 in. (29.2 x 19.7 x 15.2 cm.) approx
