The composition shows multiple figures with symbolic attributes, including banners and personifications referencing artistic and scientific pursuits. An inscription in the lower margin appears to read Patience is greatness No apparent artists signature.This image is a sketch of an allegorical painting, likely by the German artist Hans von Aachen. Based upon the original painting, titled Allegory of Peace, Art and Abundance, which was created in 1602.
