Important Louis Majorelle (Toul 18591926 Nancy). Carved with exceptional art nouveau fruitwood inlay, walnut hall or serving cabinet with a stepped niche above a short drawer and a single door inlaid with an exotic-wood bird-in-forest panel, flanked by two side shelves and raised on shaped supports. Nancy, late 19th century. No obvious apparent markings
Literature: comparable vitrine-etagere of related form published in Un ensemble Art Nouveau La Donation Rispal, Musee dOrsay, Flammarion, 2006, p. 65, no. 22 (variant decoration).
