Antique Bisque porcelain and bronze Cupid Mantel Clock. Clock measures 17.5"H x 16.5"W x 6.25"D face marked Balthazar, Paris. Balthazar clocks have honored since the 1700’s Balthazar Martinot (1636–1714) was a French clockmaker, and valet de chambre of the queen and of the King.His daughter Anne Martinot married the king’s goldsmith Philippe Van Dievoet. He was considered in his time to be one of the most famous clockmakers in Europe. He made clocks for both home market and Far Eastern market. and appointed Horloger Ordinaire du Conseil du Roi. Garde-Visiteur, 1678–79 and 1693-95. He was patronized by the most influential members of society including Louis XIV antique, great case in good condition overall
