Exceptional 18th Century oil on canvas depicting two girls in a country landscape. Unsigned. Measures 29.75" x 20.25". Provenance: Kaplan Family Collection. Columbia University Press published a book on the Kaplan family collection in 1981(The Alice M Kaplan Collection, cataloged by Linda Bantel and published by Columbia University, 1981..The collection includes museum quality paintings and drawings by Ammi Phillips, Edgar Degas, Egon Schiele, Giorgio Morandi and John Peto, as well as 20th century masters. Mary Kaplan is the daughter of Alice Kaplan.
