Rare and iconic original Normandie model chandelier by Rene Lalique, France, circa 1935. Comprising six molded frosted glass panels with raised geometric bead pattern, mounted in a hexagonal nickel-plated frame. Retains the original graduated pole covers and fluted frosted glass ceiling cap. No apparent surface markings, and we did not risk taking it apart. There are no known reproductions of this lamp.
Comparable example sold at Sothebys, New York, Important 20th Century Design, December 16, 2010, Lot 64 achieving $68, 500 USD (estimate $20, 00030, 000 USD).
