Signed Camille Faure enamel over copper vase, Limoges, circa 1920. Signed C. Faure Limoges France near the base. Camille Faure was a French enamel artist and entrepreneur who is highly regarded as one of the most innovative designers of the Art Deco era. He is best known for his work with the Limoges pottery company, where he revived the art of enameling in the early 20th century. Faure’s workshop produced vases, bowls, and other decorative objects with a distinctive three-dimensional, sculptural effect created by applying multiple layers of enamel to a copper form. His geometric and stylized floral designs, often featuring rich and vibrant colors, are particularly celebrated.

Measurements: 12 x 9 x 9 in. (30.5 x 22.9 x 22.9 cm.)

Condition: Presents well overall with deep, glossy color and crisp relief to the enamel. The surface shows a pervasive network of linear craze/stress lines within the enamel layers, visible under raking light and along several of the color transitionslikely inherent to the thick, kiln-fired enamel technique and age. Most of these lines appear subsurface/smooth to the touch (do not catch a fingernail).
