Lot 217:
Description
20th Century Art Nouveau Hector Guimard French table lamp, Cast Nickeled Metal, Blue Glass, Clear Prisms and Beads Signed with flower cipher on base. Hector Guimard was a French architect and designer, and a prominent figure of the Art Nouveau style. Today Guimard is regarded as one of the most individualistic artists of his era, one of the innovating founders of Art Nouveau who developed a personal aesthetic that is often instantly recognizable and distinguishable even from his fellow practitioners of the style. Those that visit Paris will recognize the entrances created by Guimard. 30"H x 15"W x 7.5"D. NOTE: You will see a number of lots being re-offered in this sale that we thought were sold in the last sale. Every auction has some buyers who just do not pay, but this time we got hit with quite a number of them. Some disappeared into the ether, never responded and other just changed their minds and wanted to renegotiate. None of these non-payers received or rejected the items after receipt. Why? For what purpose? All were reported and we hope they will be banned.
