Description
Claude Bonnefond Signed Art Nouveau Figural Bronze Lamp – Patinated bronze, iridescent loetz or tiffany style glass shade, signed on base. early 20th century Measures 11.5"H x 8.5"W x 5.25"D This piece is in the collection of the Kirkland Museum and described as follows: The “C. BONNEFOND” mark can be found on a variety of figural lamps and vases from this era, but information about the designer is hard to come by. A French sculptor born in 1858 ……. his work included hallmarks of the Art Nouveau style, with the nude female figure lying among vine-like stylized botanic forms. The aged bronze finish of the base is a good counterpoint to the bright iridescent glass shade. She is shielding her eyes from the bright light.
