Description
Lucien Henri Grandgerard (French, 1880-1970). Nude Female Figure Standing before a Mirror. 1st half 20th Century. Oil on panel, signed lower left, with estate stamp verso. Mounted in a period giltwood frame. Grandgerard was a french figurative painter and engraver who worked throughout the twentieth century. Well known for his light impressionist style he painted landscapes, portraits and many works devoted to women Рbathing nymphs, nudes against the backdrop of the landscape, as well as dancers. From 1906, he exhibited every year at the Salon des Artistes Fran̤ais, of which he became a member of the committee and the jury. The grand prix du portrait was awarded to him in 1933. Dimensions: Panel Р21" high x 17 1/8" wide. Frame: 26 5/8" high x 22 6/8" wide. Condition: Scattered areas of in-painting. Frame having losses.
