Description
20th Century Italian, Mangani Porcelain Art Nouveau-Style Cachepot
Mangani Porcelan, 20th Century Italian art nouveau-style porcelain cachepot on gilt bronze base. The body of vase having hand-painted water and floral bas-relief decoration and female figural and floral stem handles. Marked to foot of vase and raised on gilt base.
By the end of the 1800’s the Mangani’s was already an established sculptors family, and since that time they have handed down knowledge from father to son. From the start of 1900, Cesarino Mangani works in his own workshop atelier in florence with five children, producing works on commission for french, british and americans owners of villas in the florence countryside. By the late 1950’s the company was being imported by Tiffanys. The company is well known for producing well-executed museum reproductions. Today the company continues to produce high-quality reproductions as well as modern designs for discerning collectors of fine porcelain.
