Description
19th Century French Empire Mahogany Mantel Clock
Circa 1820, french empire mahogany mantel clock. Carved gilt wood eagle finial raised on mahogany case. The enamel and brass dial having arabic numbers with secondary date dial. Case having an arched pediment, applied brass decoration, lion mask handles, a mirrored lower back panel and paw feet. Base raised on stone feet. Unmarked time and gong strike movement. Pictured on page 122, of Arpads & Schmidt’s Az Ida Uria – Az Orak Nagykonyve.
Overall 18 1/2" high x 10 3/4" wide x 5 3/4" deep.
Condition: Wear and minor abrasion to case and eagle commensurate with age. Lacking winding key & pendulum. Clock has not been tested.
