158-Piece, E. Dragsted, Danish Modern Silver Vermeil Flatware Service in the Antik Pattern
Einar Roed Dragsted (Danish, 1887-1967). One-hundred & fifty eight (158) pieces of E. Dragsted danish modern sterling vermeil flatware in the rare antik pattern. Of hammered design having arts & crafts influence.
Lot consists of (28) dinner knives, 8". (16) butter spreaders with blade marked sterling, 6 1/4". (28) salad forks, 6 1/4". (16) lunch forks, 7 1/8". (12) forks, 7 1/4". (34) teaspoons, 5 3/4". (12) cocktail forks, 5 1/2". (12) cheese spreaders, 8 1/4". (158 total). 164.8 troy ounces, plus (28) weighted handles.
Einar Dragsted was an active silversmith and designer in Copenhagen Denmark from the 1920’s until his death in 1967. He was one of a hundred "purveyors to the danish Crown" (the equivalence of holding a Royal Warrant in the UK). His grandfather, Arent Dragsted (1821-1898), was himself a royal court jeweler & goldsmith having founded his original silverware factory in 1884. In 1923, Arendt Dragsted’s factory workshop was separated under the company name E. Dragsted with Einar as sole proprietor.
