Isaac Maimon was born in Israel in 1951 to french-speaking parents, his works shows much influence from the boulevard culture of french society, as well as the work of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Henri Matisse. He also found inspiration in the work of his fellow israelis – painters Haim Kiva and Moshe Rosenthalis during his studies.
Maimon studied at the avni institute of fine art in tel aviv where he was exposed to the paris school. In 1980, he began a teaching career, starting at the school of visual arts in beer-sheba and later at the kaye art academy. Though strongly influenced by the paris school of art, his use of color and lines creates works which are uniquely in his own voice. His works are in many private and public collections.
