Japanese Meiji-Period Carved & Soapstone Inlaid Hardwood Panel, Musician

Japanese Meiji – period, bas relief carved, gilt painted and soapstone inlaid hardwood panel depicting a musician. The verso having carved floral and bird design.

38" high x 18 3/4" wide x 1/4" deep.

Condition: Some losses to gilt painted border, minor losses to inlay. Warping to the panel commensurate with age. Old repair for split to verso. None of the splits distract from presentation.
