The stone measures 21 x 10 x 5.4mm. Necklace measures 24"L . This item was Converted from a brooch, the oval moonstone cabochon measuring approx. Framed by plique-a-jour enamel panels, signed, and suspended from associated filigree chain links, lg. 1 3/8, 24 in.
Louis Comfort Tiffany (February 18, 1848 – January 17, 1933) was an American artist and designer who worked in the decorative arts and is best known for his work in stained glass. He is the American artist most associated with the Art Nouveau and Aesthetic movements. He was affiliated with a prestigious collaborative of designers known as the Associated Artists, which included Lockwood de Forest, Candace Wheeler, and Samuel Colman.
Tiffany designed stained glass windows and lamps, glass mosaics, blown glass, ceramics, jewelry , enamels, and metalwork. He was the first design director at his family company, Tiffany & Co., founded by his father Charles Lewis Tiffany.In 1902 Tiffany became the first design director of Tiffany and Company, which was founded by his father. This necklace is one of the rare pieces that date from this period.
