Description
Signed Dante Ferretti submission for ‘Cunard, White Star’. commission Graphite & pastel on Paper, circa 1995
Dante Ferretti (Italian, born 1943). ‘Cunard, White Star’. Graphite & pastel on paper, depicting three ships of the White Star Cruise Ship line, one being the Queen Mary. Likely a submission or commission for a mural or advertising. Signed & dated ’95 lower right in pencil.
Ferretti is an academy award winning film production designer (Ginger & Fred, Casino, Interview with a Vampire, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, Kundun, Titus, The Age of Innocence, and others). Dante Ferretti has served as the production designer on over 50 feature films, 24 opera productions, and over a dozen television, museum, fashion, festival, and publication projects This piece was likely used as part of a set for background. Ferretti has worked with some of the most notable filmmakers including Martin Scorsese, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Julie Taymor, Tim Burton, and Federico Fellini.
The museum of modern art mounted an exhibition honoring his film career, ‘Dante Ferretti: Design and Construction for the Cinema’ in 2013, which included film, 3D models, drawings, props and paintings.

PAYMENT
All invoices totaling over $5,000 must be paid via wire transfer. Payments for jewelry, watches, and silver must also be made via wire transfer. Credit card transactions are subject to a 3.1% fee. We do not accept credit card transactions over the phone.

We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Invoices will be sent out on Wednesday morning after the auction. Pick-up is available by appointment only from Wednesday to Sunday, between 11am-4pm.

Only one employee is responsible for handling all invoices and preparing items for shipment after the auction. NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Condition information is available upon request, no later than 24 hours prior to the auction. All lots are offered and sold "as is, " and COLLECTive Hudson will not provide refunds based on condition. Timepiece movements, lighting, and electrics have not been tested, and art has not been examined out of the frame unless otherwise stated.
Condition: Good overall condition having average surface wear. Frame having storage wear to edges and corners, lacking glass/plexi.
