Pair of French Art Deco Enameled Wrought Iron Fire Screens in the manner of Gilbert Poillerat. Born in 1902, Gilbert Poillerat is one of the most renowned French designer and wrought iron master of the 20th Century. He studied engraving at the Ecole Boulle in Paris. He started then his career at Edgar Brandt’s studio as a designer and model-maker. Poillerat was inspired by historical architecture. These screens are very similar to works done by Edgar Brandt, with whom he worked early in his career..
