This is a good early Chinese carved stone lion Foo dog guardian statue. This item is described in a certified appraisal dated November 18th 2003 by Harmer Johnson, Appraisers Association of America, and formerly with Sotheby’s as head of Antiquities Dept. and prepared for the Marshall and Kay J. Lee Collection. Marshall was Vice President of Harry N Abrams, the leading publisher of large format art books. The lion was valued at $5000.00
