Possibly Louis Comfort Tiffany is closely associated with the Art Nouveau movement. He was best known for his work in stained glass and for leading Tiffany & Co.’s design department during its most innovative period.
While he is most renowned for his lamps, stained glass windows, and glass vases which prominently feature Art Nouveau motifs and sensibilities, Tiffany & Co. under his design direction also produced a range of decorative arts including silver objects. Tiffany silver from this period often displayed Art Nouveau elements, such as organic forms and intricate floral motifs.
