Description
Rolex Reference 2508 WWII Military Chronograph Wristwatch, Circa 1930’s
Rolex Reference 2508 WWII Military Chronograph from Switzerland. Hand-winding movement. At 38mm, it’s notably large for its era (crown not included). The original dial appears immaculate, almost as if brand new. The movement functions excellently, bearing the inscription "Rolex Geneve 17Rubis (Valjoux22)". The inside of the back case is marked with "2508", though the case back appears to be a later addition and may not be original.
Launched in the mid 1930s, reference 2508 was Rolex’s very first model to feature two chronograph registers, as well as two buttons to operate the mechanism. The reference can generally be divided into two series: while models from the first generation feature olive pushers and a larger case size, second generation specimens feature rectangular pushers and a relatively smaller case diameter.
