Female nude glass sculpture. Signed Bottom of Base. Andrea Tagliapietra, a renowned Murano glass master, is celebrated for his exceptional skills in the chalcedony and solid glass techniques. Born in Murano in the 1950s, he developed a passion for glassmaking from a young age, influenced by his father Erminio, a master glassmaker. Tagliapietra became a master himself in 1979, gaining international acclaim in the 1980s. His works, known for their sinuous shapes and color harmonies, reflect a modern interpretation of Murano glass art. He specializes in creating abstract figures inspired by nature and humanity, including series like Lovers and marine animals. His sculptures, influenced by great 20th-century sculptors, are prized worldwide and add distinctive character to any environment.
