Description
Gabriel Ludwig Lory (attrib) Watercolor Painting Early 19th Century
Gabriel Ludwig Lory, a Swiss artist active during the late 18th and early 19th centuries, is attributed with the creation of "View of the Grand Gallery of Gondo." Although the watercolor is unsigned, its attribution to Lory (1763-1840) is substantiated through this image’s reproduction and publication as an aquatint by Rudolf Ackermann in the early 19th century. This information can be verified through online sources. Lory, recognized for his contributions in paintings and watercolor, had a significant impact on the Swiss art scene of his time.
