EGYPTIAN RARE ANCIENT MUMMY TOMB CARTONNAGE BROAD COLLAR NECKLACE
Rare Egyptian cartonnage broad collar necklace, in papyrus, gesso, and pigment, having falcon head terminals issuing bands of flowers, papyrus blossoms, and geometric decorations in the manner of an actual gold and precious stone necklace popular with elites during the New Kingdom period, this piece with small holes around the edges allowing it to be sewn onto a net that would cover a wrapped mummy.
Approximate dimensions: Necklace h. 8.5", w. 14"; frame h. 20.25", w. 24.25", d. 4.75".
