Ancient Roman Statue Fragment, Divine Child Harpocrates
Roman or Romo- Egyptian terracotta statue fragment of the divine child Harpocrates, the god of silence, circa 320AD, modeled with his finger just below his closed lips, with a later custom granite stand, base or stand retaining a label for Harmer Rooke Galleries, 57th st, New Your City. Note: TL testing dates the figure included in this lot as being last fired approximately 1700 years ago (+/- 200 years), or circa 320AD.
Statue: 4.8 x 3 x 2 1/4 in. (12.2 x 7.6 x 5.7 cm.), Stand 2 x 4 x 4 in. (5.1 x 10.2 x 10.2 cm.)
