Description
CHINESE BRONZE ANTIQUE CEREMONIAL LARGE BOWL, GUI, CHINA, PROBABLY MING DYNASTY
The interior of the pan with inscription in an archaic form of Chinese script, which could be indicative of its use or the identity of its owner. The script is arranged in columns and is a key feature of the vessel, suggesting that it may have been used for ceremonial purposes or as a dedication.
The exterior of the pan is decorated with a geometric pattern, which is typical of ancient Chinese bronze ware. This pattern includes repeating motifs known as "leiwen, " which are common in Chinese bronzes from the Shang and Zhou dynasties.
