Signed Galle Dragonfly Art Nouveau Inlaid French Marquetry Inlaid 2 Tier Table, 1900
French Marquetry Inlaid 2 Tier Table, the "Libellules" (dragonflies) table by Emile Galle. The mahogany table has a wavy edge with a border of 6 large C-scroll trim-pieces and an inset center panel inlaid with a lakeside landscape scene, flowers and filigree in the foreground and trees within the background; the trefoil lower tier is inlaid with obscure shapes and a single butterfly in various intricately grained woods. The two tiers of the table supported by 3 large dragonfly shaped legs with spread wings supporting the table top and ends on elegant scrolled feet.
