Claire Colinet was a Belgian-born sculptor, who worked primarily in the early 20th century. She is often recognized for her exquisite Art Deco figures, typically produced in bronze. Colinet was active in the Parisian art scene and exhibited her work at the Salon des Artistes Français. Her sculptures often portrayed dancers and exotic subjects, capturing them in dynamic and fluid motions.
Given that artists during her era like Demetre Chiparus and Ferdinand Preiss often receive more spotlight, Claire Colinet sometimes doesn’t get the recognition she deserves. However, for those in the know, her works are appreciated for their elegance and detailed craftsmanship.
