André Pierre Lupiac (1873-1956) Attributed. "By the Horns". Oil on canvas mounted on panel. No apparent signature.
Bio: André-Pierre Lupiac, born in 1873 in Toulouse, entered the École des Beaux-Arts at 17 and won the second grand prize in 1893 with his Télémaque gagnant de Périandre (lot 36). Starting in 1897, he studied under Jean-Paul Laurens and later Benjamin Constant, debuting at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1900. In 1905, he co-founded the Société des Artistes Méridionaux and retired to Castanet in 1923
