At first glance, the artwork appears to be painted on both sides of an incredibly thin sheet of paper, presenting an exact mirror image of its design on the reverse. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes evident that the painting is indeed only on one side, with the delicate rise of the paint creating a tactile texture that hints at its singular surface application. The optical illusion is further enhanced by the paper’s remarkable thinness, allowing light to subtly pass through and illuminate the mirror image from behind, thus blurring the boundaries between front and back.
