Camillo Innocenti (1871-1961), oil on panel titled "The Painter and His Model". The composition centers around a painter, who is seen diligently capturing the likeness of his model, a woman draped in flowing garments of red and white. Signed by Innocenti on the lower left.
Artist Bio: Innocenti was one of the most successful artists in early twentieth-century Italy, renowned for his modern and internationally acclaimed paintings. He trained under influential nineteenth-century masters such as Antonio Mancini, Domenico Morelli, and Francesco Paolo Michetti. The Roman painter quickly caught the attention of critics at the early editions of the Venice Biennale. Notably, at the 1909 Biennale, Innocenti had a dedicated room showcasing twenty of his most significant works to date. This extraordinary success made him highly sought after by prominent European galleries. In 1913, the Bernheim Jeunes gallery in Paris, famous for its association with the Impressionists, hosted a major solo exhibition for Innocenti, cementing his international fame.
