Irving Penn, "Nude 55", 1949. This photograph by Irving Penn (American, 1917-2009) is a gelatin silver print, mounted, with the photographer’s "Photograph by PENN" credit stamp and a Conde Nast copyright/reproduction rights stamp on verso. It is matted and encased in a plexiglass box frame.
Measurements: 16.875"h x 15.25"w (image), 25.5"h x 23.5"w (frame)
Provenance: The Estate of Peter Schub, New York. Notes/Literature: Peter Schub had a long and distinguished career as a photography agent, negotiating for some of the most prominent photographers of the 20th century including Irving Penn, Peter Beard, and Anthony Armstrong Jones.
