Artist Bio: Victor Vaserely is well known for his Op Art painting and geometric images. His works are held in many public and private collections around the world.

Vasarely’s early work, heavily influenced by his graphic design background, featured zebra motifs and checkerboard patterns, setting the foundation for his later exploration into optical effects and geometric abstraction. His art, characterized by its use of geometric shapes and vibrant colors, creates illusions of spatial depth and movement, engaging the viewer’s visual perception and prompting a dynamic interaction with the artwork.

In the 1950s and 1960s, Vasarely’s work gained significant attention, leading him to be recognized as the father of Op Art. He believed that art should be accessible to everyone, and this ethos was reflected in his approach to making his work reproducible and available beyond the confines of traditional art spaces.
