Nicolas Lancret attributed oil on panel painting titled Spring or The Gallant Gardener. This composition was the subject for an engraving by N. de Larmessin and it originates from the former Alfred de Rothschild collection (referenced in Georges Wildenstein’s Lancret, no. 15, Paris 1924).
