A stunning Hudson River School oil on panel painting renowned American Hudson River School artist Asher B. Durand (1796–1886).We have been studying this work for awhile and believe it is correct. The work was discovered in France and shipped to us because they believed it would be more appropriately offered here in the Hudson Valley. Very hard to photograph

Asher B. Durand was one of the leading figures of the Hudson River School, a mid-19th-century art movement known for its romantic depictions of the American landscape. This composition is an exceptional example of the work he is known for and exhibits some of the unique characteristics that help identify verify the work, including yhe use of thin white highlight lines to emphasize. Originally a skilled engraver, Durand transitioned to painting and gained widespread acclaim for his luminous and detailed portrayals of nature. His seminal work, Kindred Spirits (1849), remains a cornerstone of American art.
