Pair of signed Vienna Secession armchairs designed by Otto Wagner (1841–1918) for Jacob & Josef Kohn, Model No. 721, circa 1902–1905. Curved stained wood with a pierced backrest and rounded arms. Chair bears the original Jacob & Josef Kohn stamp.
This design is referenced in the Catalogue of the House Jacob & Josef Kohn (Edition Verlag Dry, 1985) and Curved Wooden Furniture by Karl Krämer (1984), with similar models illustrated. Wagner designed this rare set in 1902 for the offices of the newspaper Die Zeit in Vienna.
