NO RESERVE Pablo Picasso, signed in pencil and attributed to the artist, dated “10” in pencil at the lower right. Mixed-media collage on card composed of cut and layered printed papers, hand-drawn graphite elements, and painted passages in blue, black, and ochre, forming a Cubist still life with musical instrument and architectural motifs. The work is signed in pencil “Picasso 10” at the lower right.

This artwork relates to Picasso’s Cubist collages and drawings depicting musical instruments, often guitars or violins. The use of mixed media—including collage, drawn elements, and abstracted geometric forms—is consistent with Picasso’s experimental “musical collages” of the early 1910s, a period during which he frequently explored instrument imagery.

The composition incorporates key Cubist elements, including fragmentation of form into intersecting geometric shapes and the presentation of multiple viewpoints within a single pictorial space. The varied materials and layered construction emphasize texture and spatial ambiguity.

Presented in a modern frame.
