Summary:
George Davidson (American, 1889–1965). Group of three gouache paintings on board depicting Renaissance revival scenes of knights, banners, and mounted processions. Versos bear artist sketching and paper supplier labels, including Winsor & Newton and L. Olivieri, Roma. Unframed, with edge wear and toning consistent with age.
Bio: George Davidson was a noted muralist and illustrator, awarded a Medal of Honor for mural painting by the New York Architectural League in 1926. He was a member of the Mural Painters Society and was elected to full membership in the National Academy in 1942.
