Bio: John von Bergen (American, born 1939, Stockholm, Sweden) was raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from Hamilton College in 1963, studied at the Art Students League, and received his MFA from Pratt Institute in 1967. He taught at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, Hamilton College, and Colgate University, and received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Ford Foundation, among others.
