Summary:

Nice Antique French School pastel on paper depicting a young woman in 18th century style attire, shown holding a flower with a soft, graceful expression. Probably 18th Century. work and related to work of the period by Boucher. and his circle. A portrait of Mme Pompador by Boucher in a different pose also depicts her with same hairstyle wearing and decorations woven into her hair. Presented in a gilt frame. The artwork exemplifies the Rococo period, known for its soft pastels, noble grace, and elegant subjects.

( Surface shows minor discoloration consistent with age. Frame with losses, surface wear, and minor cracking to gilt finish. Not examined out of frame.)
