Paul Guigou (After), oil on canvas, signed and dated 1860 lower right, with additional inscription on the back.

Original located at Musee Orsay. Paul Guigou was an important French landscape painter born in 1834 in Aix-en-Provence, France. He died in the same city in 1871. Guigou is known for his landscape paintings. Two sources, "Paul Guigou, catalog raisonné" by Sylvie Lamort de Gail and "Paul Guigou 1834-1871" by Claude-Jeanne Bonnici, describe and reproduce his work, including "Les Bords de la Durance." a student of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Marseille under Loubon. Guigou was also featured at the Salon in Paris and Marseille
