Bio: Erté (Romain de Tirtoff, 1892–1990) was a Russian-born French artist and designer celebrated as one of the defining figures of the Art Deco movement. Based in Paris, he worked across fashion, illustration, theater, costume, jewelry, sculpture, and decorative arts. His elegant, highly stylized figures and sophisticated designs became internationally recognized, particularly through his long association with Harper’s Bazaar.
