Frederick Ballard Williams, signed oil on canvas painting, Provenance: Grand Central Art Gallery "In a Carefree World", signed lower left, title inscribed verso stretcher, provenance labels verso. Williams was a realist painter who primarily did his nature paintings in his studio. He earned many awards during his lifetime including the Isidor Gold Medal of the National Academy of Design in 1909. He was active in many art associations and exhibited widely in America and in London, Paris, Venice, Rome, and Peru. He won numerous awards and his work is in many museums throughout the U.S.
