Summary:
Attributed to Faberge, Russian Imperial period silver and enamel box, circa 1900. Of rectangular form with rounded corners and a hinged lid, the box is finely decorated with light-colored enamel over an engraved foliate and geometric design. The lid is centered by a raised geometric cartouche accented with a cluster of rose-cut diamonds.
Stamped with the Russian 88 silver standard and an AM maker’s mark The maker is likely Anders Mickelson because he often made his mark using the Latin AM. Mickelson was a famous Finnish-born master jeweler and workmaster who produced high-end objects for the House of Fabergé. He specialized cigarette cases and small, intricately enameled luxury items. Anders Mickelsen was of Nordic descent, his mark often appears in Latin "AM" rather than Cyrillic.and his works often display his Nordic heritage in terms of design elements, as does this box. Weight approximately 75 grams.
